Champions!!!

May 14, 2012

Well……Where do we start? What an absolute heart rendering finale to the title race.  I am still twitching and mumbling after watching what was probably the best ever 5 minutes of football I have ever witnessed. Anyway, you don’t need me to express the feelings, being a true City Fan you will know what this means to us, the team and the owners in addition to partners and sponsors at the club.

If you are interested, the Champions yes Champions Parade will be shown on AD Sports TV 5 tonight at what I assume will be 9pm – 9.30pm UAE time start. Enjoy the moment! I know I will……

Still in the midst of celebrations from the victorious FA Cup Semi Final win over Salford Yernited, I wanted to give you an update on the upcoming final. For those supporters in the UAE that are not able to make the journey to Wembley on May 14th we are looking at organizing a gathering in Abu Dhabi. More details will be sent on this as the arrangements are made in the coming days. For those like myself who will be travelling to London to see the match we will be giving updates on any local information that is required prior to traveling. There is a company in Dubai that is offering packages for the final which includes Airfare, Ticket to the game in club wembley section, 3 days hotel stay and rail ticket to stadium. I understand the prices start at 7500 AED. If anyone is interested in joining the gathering in Abu Dhabi or requires any information on the Final / Wembley then please feel free to contact me and I can furnish the details accordingly.

This will be a massive day for all City fans around the world. Lets hope we can get that banner down from the swamp and take our first trophy in 35 years!

Sheikh Mansour Pens Open Letter to Fans

October 1, 2010

Below is a copy of the letter from City owner Sheikh Mansour which has been published today on the official site.

Quote

Dear Fellow City Fans,

Two years ago I was fortunate enough to become part of the Manchester City story and I remain grateful for the warmth of the welcome that you have given me.

The ownership of a Club like Manchester City, with such a rich heritage and diverse community of stakeholders, carries a unique set of obligations to the fans, staff and broader Manchester community.  This is something I do not take lightly.

Therefore the challenge I set my Board and Executive Leadership Team is to develop City so that it is one of the most successful clubs both on and off the pitch, but to do so without losing any of the characteristics that make it so special.

It has been an exciting and busy two years and that is why we are publishing this annual report.  It is designed for you the fans, providing a detailed perspective on the progress of your club as a business, as a member of the community and of course as a great sporting institution.

Two years ago I promised that we would try and listen to your views and keep you informed of progress.  I hope after reading the report that you feel a sense of pride in just how far we have come.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the fans, staff and partners of the Club for their ongoing commitment and dedication, and wish the management and players a successful season for 2010-11.

Mansour bin Zayed

Giant Manchester City shirt signing

August 4, 2010

As football-fever grips the UAE with the start of the 2010 English Premier League season only a few weeks away, Etihad Airways has unveiled a giant Manchester City FC shirt with the aim of getting more than 5,000 signatures on it before the club’s first home match of the season.

To date, the shirt has been touring venues in the UAE for members of the public to sign. It already has more than 4,000 signatures.

There will be a chance  to sign the shirt tomorrow (Thursday) between 10am and 11am in the Etihad  Head Office reception area before the shirt is sent to Manchester for the first game of the season on Saturday, August 14.

All Etihad staff who sign the shirt can enter a draw to win various Manchester City FC merchandise. In addition, the  signing session will be filmed and shown on the big screen during Manchester City’s first home game against Liverpool on August 23.

The team’s new home and away kits (including children’s sizes) for the 2010/2011 season will be launched tomorrow also. These will be available to buy at special staff prices in the shop on the ground floor of Head Office along with a range of leisure wear items.

Please come along to sign the shirt and show your support for Manchester City FC.
