Welcome to Abu Dhabi Blues

In August 2008 the Abu Dhabi United Group purchased Manchester City Football Club and set about transforming the club, driven by the vision of establishing itself as one of the top 4 Premier League sides.

With no MCFC official supporters club in Abu Dhabi, two MCFC fans decided to embark on the journey to form an OSC here in Abu Dhabi to provide fellow fans an opportunity to come together and share in the excitement that their team provides.

Our goal is to spread the word for Abu Dhabi based supporters, and co-ordinate venues so that we can come together and watch the games as a group. In addition we plan to host other events in conjunction with the clubs activities in Abu Dhabi, similar to those held when the club visited us in November 2009.

FA Cup Final – Gathering

Whilst we have surrendered out Premier League crown, we still have the FA Cup Final to contest this weekend. I know many of the Abu Dhabi Blues are traveling back to the UK to watch the match and to them we wish you all a safe and successful trip.

For those City fans who are not traveling back and wondering where the best place to watch the match will be here in the capital, we have the answer! The Abu Dhabi Blues – Official Supporters Club will be gathering at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club in The Pavilion. We will be doing a Match Day experience with pre game songs prepared by our very own top blue and renowned Abu Dhabi DJ – DJ Chris Delaney and offering a taste of Mary D’s. The atmosphere will be buzzing and an event not to be missed.

All are welcome including children (we know its late – BUT ITS THE FA CUP FINAL!!).

Kick Off is 8.15pm UAE Time. We will be there form 7pm (maybe even 6…)

So if you are not going to Wembley, this will be the place to be!

I am City

Hello Fellow Blues!

It has been a while and we are back on track to bring you all the happenings of the Abu Dhabi Blues OSC.

We have been contacted by MCFC to help the club gather some fan made video content to be used on CityTV and on the big screens at the stadium on match days.

The vision as always is to try to bring the fans together as one, particularly on match days and so they want to aim to feature as many Manchester City fans as possible from around the world.

What they are asking the OSC (official supporters club)  branches around the world to do is simply gather as many clips of their members as possible either individually or as groups reciting the following phrase to camera (in English or whatever other languages you speak)

“Hi I’m (name) from (place) **pause** I am City

That’s it! it couldn’t be easier really could it? Please be as creative as you can and don’t just say the words, wear your colours and show your passion for City.

Abu Dhabi Blues is one of the most celebrated groups within the club and we want to show our passion.

The video will need to be created in clips as Hi Res as possible in whatever format you can produce for the video team to edit. But do not worry if you only have an iPhone to work with, we are not making a Hollywood blockbuster here, what’s important is to get the clips from you guys.

Hark Now Hear! – It’s Derby Day this Weekend

It Should Have Been 10! It Should have been 10!

This weekend City will look to go top of the league with a victory over the City obsessed neighbours Salford United. After taking a well-earned 6 points from them last season we will need to be a bit sharper in front of goal to take the maximum points in this fixture. The same fixture last season saw Capt Kompany head in from the 15 yards out to put us top of the league on goal difference. The same could again happen this Sunday and look how the season ended up then.

The Abu Dhabi Blues will be gathering at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club in the Pavillion (opposite Club House) for the game. Kick off is 5.30pm and we will be there from 4.30 onwards. This is a family event and all families are welcome. There are kids activities also at the Pavillion.

Be sure to get involved in the atmosphere of a proper derby and join your fellow blues for an exciting match.

Membership Cards & MCFC v Stoke

After the usual rubbish that is served up over an international break, City return to action this weekend with a trip to the rugby club Stoke City. The Abu Dhabi Blues will be meeting at the NRG bar to watch the game. Please feel free to come along and join us.

The membership cards for the Manchester City Official Supporters Club – Abu Dhabi Branch have arrived and are ready for distribution. Both Martyn and Myself will be distributing them this weekend at the Stoke viewing. So if you applied please come along to collect and bring your membership fee. A detailed sheet will also be given out highlighting the benefits of membership.

Kick for Stoke v MCFC is 6pm UAE time on Saturday 15th September. We will be in NRG from around 5pm onwards. We hope to see you there!

2012-2013 Home Shirt

July 26, 2012

This season’s new Home shirt goes on sale today at the CityStore in Marina Mall. This is the last season City will wear Umbro before switching to Umbro’s current parent company Nike. The maroon Away shirt went on sale a couple of weeks ago and is also available in the CityStore. Full lettering, numbering and gold premier league patches are also available.

Get geared up and ready for the new season!
