Welcome to Abu Dhabi Blues

In August 2008 the Abu Dhabi United Group purchased Manchester City Football Club and set about transforming the club, driven by the vision of establishing itself as one of the top 4 Premier League sides.

With no MCFC official supporters club in Abu Dhabi, two MCFC fans decided to embark on the journey to form an OSC* here in Abu Dhabi to provide fellow fans an opportunity to come together and share in the excitement that their team provides.

Our goal is to spread the word for Abu Dhabi based supporters, and co-ordinate venues so that we can come together and watch the games as a group. In addition we plan to host other events in conjunction with the clubs activities in Abu Dhabi, similar to those held when the club visited us in November 2009.

Derby Day Gathering

January 7, 2012

The Abu Dhabi Blues will be gathering at NRG Sports Bar (Le Meridien Hotel) for this weekends FA Cup 3rd round clash with the team from Salford. City look to be without a few key players due to the african cup of nations and injury. The game is on Sunday 8th Feb and kick off is 5pm UAE time. We all remember what happened the last time we played them…….

MCFC School of Football

MCFC are launching the MCFC School of Football here in Abu Dhabi. The course will start  week commencing Jan 15th. You can enter to win a trip for 2 to go and see City play live if you register before Jan 7th. To register visit the CityStore in Marina Mall or visit the reception area at Zayed Sports City.  The details of the course are:

The program will kick-off in January at Zayed Sports City (Abu Dhabi) on the 15th of January, and run for 10 weeks throughout the Spring school term. Weekly coaching sessions will take place on weekday afternoons between 4.30pm and 8pm, for 90 minutes. When you sign-up, you will be able to mention your preferences.

 We are also very pleased to offer the opportunity to all participants to enjoy to our MCFC Football Saturdays to play games under the supervision of MCFC coaches, when kids will be able to practice the skills they have learned during the week. Additionally, each participant will receive a full MCFC kit.

The 10-week course costs AED 1,750.

Maybe your child has what it takes to become the next David Silva or Joe Hart.

Manchester City v Arsenal – Gathering

December 14, 2011

After suffering our first defeat of the season away to Chelsea on Monday night and listen to the world-wide media informing us of our demise, we still remain top of the English Premier League. This Sunday sees the Gunners head to the Etihad Stadium and will hopefully show that we are the best team in the land and all the world.

The Abu Dhabi Blues will be gathering at the Sky Blue event at Zayed Sports City for this weekends game against Arsenal. The event is an invite only and if you need more details on this please email me. We will be there from 7.30pm onwards.

Manchester City v Bayern Munich – Gathering

The Abu Dhabi Blues will be gathering at NRG Bar for the upcoming Champions League game v Bayern Munich on Wednesday 7th December (KO 11.45pm). The game will decide City’s fate in the competition with only a win acceptable and a hopeful defeat for Napoli against Villareal. Let’s join together to cheer on the Citizens and hopefully celebrate our place in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

6 reasons to like the FA Cup 3rd Round Draw

What a great start to the FA Cup proper.

The 3rd Round draw was made last night and has drawn our beloved City against a local team from Salford. The last time the 2 teams met saw us put 6 goals past them in a one-sided affair at the swamp. Let’s continue to show them what we are about when they visit our great city of Manchester in early January.

Liverpool v Manchester City

Abu Dhabi Blues will be meeting at the Sky Blue Fan Zone this week for the Liverpool game. This is an invite only event open to Sky Blue Members. If you need any details on joining Sky Blue please visit the Etihad Airways website for full details.

After a bit of a setback midweek v Napoli (which with the exception of a couple of players I thought we played quite well) a difficult place to visit for both players and fans alike, we now face another tough trip to a similar scene in Liverpool.

Beats on the Beach

November 4, 2011

MCFC Abu Dhabi are going to be at Beats on the Beach from the 9th – 12th of November (so next Wednesday to Saturday). We’re going to be running a competition that challenges patrons on the speed kick. There’s three categories – junior (under 12), senior (12-18) and adult (18+), prizes each night, and the chance to go in the final at the end of the year. Come on down with the family and challenge each other! See you there.
